First built in 1963 as a nine-hole course, this William Neff, signature golf course was redesigned to its current 18-holes in 1976. In 2003, #18 was redesigned by William Neff Jr., and has proven to be one of the classic finishing holes in Utah. In addition to providing professionally designed and well kept greens, Park City Golf Club's elevation of 6700 feet can actually add distance to your shots while you play on a course that is typically 10 to 15 degrees cooler than most courses in the area-a definite bonus during the hot summer months.
The Mountain Dell Canyon course features 13 of the original 18 holes at Mountain Dell and five new holes rolling up the eastern canyon carved out of the natural oak brush and rose thickets. At an altitude of 6,000 feet, Mountain Dell is near exit 134 on Interstate 80, 12 miles east of Salt Lake City and 13 miles west from Park City. Mountain Dell is about eight degrees cooler in the summer than the Salt Lake Valley. Players on the Canyon Course in the morning or early evening may see deer, elk, moose, eagles, hawks, badgers, squirrels, and an occasional cougar. The Canyon course stretches up the eastern mountain from the clubhouse about four miles before looping back, so motorized golf cars are recommended.
Considered by many to be the most beautiful public golf course in Salt Lake City, Mountain Dell is nestled in Parley's Canyon. It offers two challenging 18-hole courses, the Lake Course and the Canyon Course, both of which traverse mountainous terrain. Truly enjoy the ambience of these delightful courses by taking a drink of fresh water tapped directly from a natural spring; look around the hills and lakes for moose; and take a deep breath of mountain air.
Voted one of the "Best Places to Play" by Golf Digest, the spectacular Wasatch Mountain State Park boasts a 36-hole facility, complete with a comfortable, full-service clubhouse, beautiful practice green and driving range and an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
The park's challenging 18-hole Mountain Course (cart required) is carved from natural mountain contours, and is known for occasional sightings of roaming deer, elk, wild turkeys, moose and other wildlife.
You'll reach vantage points overlooking the beautiful Heber Valley below.
The 18-hole Lake Course lies on gentler terrain, where surrounding mountains slope away to the valley floor. Season-long pastoral beauty, with tree lined fairways and eight lakes and ponds, offers just the right setting to make the Lake Course a favorite for high, low and "no" handicappers.
